Oil Spill Artwork: Three Tampa Bay artists represent the findings of the C-IMAGE consortium through ten original art pieces. Representing ongoing studies into deep-sea oil plumes, sea floor recovery and oil exposure in fishes, the artwork conveys the themes of a two-volume book series synthesizing the variety of Gulf-wide oil spill studies.
Deep-sea fauna: Studying the deep Gulf of Mexico (200-1,500 m), the DEEPEND consortium collected thousands of deep sea animals studying the health and distribution of previously unstudied waters. Professional photographer Danté Fenolio captures the beauty and intricacies in both newly discovered species and more common species of deep-sea nekton.
